2225 11th Ave. South | Nashville | 37204
Architecture: Ryan Thewes Architect
Built 2010, 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2,329 square feet
This was a new home for an art professor at a local university. The house is located in one of the more progressive neighborhoods in Nashville and is in close proximity to the university which allows him the opportunity to bike to work.
Being an artist himself, the client came to me with many ideas so this house was a strong collaboration between architect and client. We were working on a tight budget for the project, so the overall form remained simple which allowed us to upgrade to more elegant features such as the standing seam metal roof, custom 10 foot tall storefront windows and doors as well as spray foaming the entire house to increase its energy efficiency. The interior is clean and modern with large volumes of space which allow for such events as parties, musical performances and art exhibits.
